Breast Lift Surgery

Breast lift surgery, also known as Mastopexy, is a surgery that re-shapes, raises and lifts your breasts by removing excess skin and by tightening the surrounding tissues to give them a new beautiful contour.
Breasts become droopy after pregnancy, breastfeeding or just as a result of aging. This surgery effectively re-shapes your breasts and makes them more youthful, firmer and perkier, thus giving you a new level of confidence.

The surgical procedure of breast lift and the outcome is influenced by the shape and size of your breast.

The breast lift surgery can take approximately two to three hours depending on the type of surgery being performed.
Incisions are made on the breasts and then the excess skin from the underneath and the sides of the breast is removed. This gives the breast, a smooth, natural and more youthful appearance. This is very carefully measured and planned during your previous consultation and again immediately prior to surgery.
The remaining skin is tightened and reshaped around the nipples, resulting in the breast lift. Then the cuts are closed with the stitches.
In cases, where only a small lift is required, no further incisions are made. In cases, where the more extensive lift is needed due to the large size of the breast or the breasts being saggy, a further incision is sited from the areola vertically down to the breast crease and then side to side in the breast crease.
These scars heal well and are generally very subtle once the healing process is complete.

Breast Uplift surgery is a surgery done under general anaesthesia and it takes approximately 3 hours. Patients do not seem to experience much pain after this surgery. You probably need to take rest for at least two weeks from work after this surgery.
A firm dressing or a soft supportive bra should be worn for 6 weeks and strenuous or repetitive activity must be avoided during this time.
